For a long time I have been preparing the special document concerning the rules for entering the Chinese journals in our VINITI datbase. Now finally this document is ready - and you can find it enclosed in the Attachment to this letter. Could you please read it very attentively and tell me if you have some corrections or other suggestions on it. And of course - please could you always send this document to all Chinese journals who want to join VINITI database. You see - it is very important for us and following these rules can greatly help me to accelerate the work with Chinese journals. Could you imagine - now in every journal with only hieroglyphic name on their front covers - I have to write the English transliteration of the hieroglyphic names on each journal with my own hand! And also I am writing the volume and the number of the issues in all journals which do not have it on the front cover. It really makes my work with Chinese journals very slow! So please help me to inform the editorial boards of Chinese journals to follow these rules as much as the can. Thank you beforehand for your kind assistance and cooperation.
